Homeworking


While the idea of allowing employees to work away from direct supervision might raise fears of slacking, managers should be aware that homeworking can lower staff turnover, boost output and cut costs.
Under current employment law, employers are obliged to 'seriously consider' requests for flexible working from employees with children under the age of six or employees with children with disabilities under the age of 18. Homeworking - allowing your employees to work from home for some or all of their working week - is a way of working flexibly.
